Teacher Appreciation Week – May 2-6

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is May 2-6. Show all your teachers and the staff at Trace Crossings Elementary how much you appreciate all they do for you with notes, treats, flowers or something for their classroom. And to make things even easier, you can check our teacher list for suggestions of favorite snacks, flowers, and their classroom wish list.

Best Silent Auction EVER!

Thank you to everyone who contributed or bid at our Silent Auction! We raised $8668 for Trace Crossings Elementary this year, and it was our most successful Silent Auction ever.

And congratulations to the 5th grade for raising the most with their baskets! They will now enjoy an extra recess and ice cream party before the end of the year. Thank you to every grade for their donations – we appreciated them all!

1st place: 5th Grade $325

Snacks for Team Trace

Please sign up to drop off snacks for the Trace Crossings Elementary staff to fuel them through the end of the year! Donations can be handed off during morning carpool on Tuesday April 20th and Wednesday April 21st.

TCES has around 130 staff members and shaping our students’ futures makes them HUNGRY! If you are asking yourself “am I buying too much” the answer is “probably not”. We appreciate you helping make sure the Trace Crossings Elementary teachers and staff members are well taken care of!

Bus Drivers Needed

Hoover City Schools Needs Bus Drivers!  See information below from HCS:

WE NEED FULL TIME AND SUBSTITUTE DRIVERS IMMEDIATELY
GOOD HOURS, REWARDING JOB TRAINING PROVIDED!
PEEHIP INSURANCE AND STATE RETIREMENT FOR FULL TIME EMPLOYEES. $ 80.00 PER DAY FOR SUBSTITUTE DRIVERS IF YOU DRIVE BOTH AN AM AND PM ROUTE

How to Apply:

  1. Complete a classified application at https://www.alsde.edu/TeachInAlabama
  2. Call the HCS Transportation Office at 205-439-1120 to:
    • Inform us your application is complete;
    • Receive the information you need to obtain your Class B CDL permit with PS endorsements;
    • Set up your Preliminary Bus Driver Interview after you have your Class B CDL with PS endorsements
  3. After the preliminary interview, qualified candidates will be invited to attend the training class

Order School Supply Kits by May 29

Great news!  We are offering the SchoolKidz supply kits again for the next school year 2020-2021!  These kits include the exact colors, quantities, and brands that our teachers request.  They will be packaged in a personalized box ready for you before the first day of school.  This makes back-to-school shopping so easy!
